Commercial Driving Instructor (Class 1, Class 3 & Air Brakes)
We are a commercial driving school committed to developing safe, capable, and confident professional drivers. We are currently seeking Class 1, Class 3, and Air Brakes Instructors who work well with students and teammates and who align with our core values of growth, respect, integrity, passion, community, safety, and accountability.
This role is well suited to individuals who take pride in instruction, value professionalism, and understand the importance of safety, consistency, and strong fundamentals in driver training. The successful candidates will be ready to start in the near term and become integral members of our instructional team.
Position Overview
The Commercial Driving Instructor provides high-quality commercial driver training in a structured, respectful learning environment. Instructors play a key role in mentoring students, reinforcing safe driving practices, and upholding both regulatory and organizational standards.
This position may also include participation in the Wheels of Opportunity grant, a unique initiative focused on increasing the number of qualified Class 3 commercial drivers within the Agricultural Transportation Industry.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver professional Class 1, Class 3, and/or Air Brakes instruction to students with varying levels of experience
Prepare students for both practical and theoretical components of commercial licensing
Reinforce safety procedures, regulations, and best practices at all times
Provide clear instruction, coaching, and constructive feedback
Maintain accurate training documentation and instructional records
Support or deliver safety- and equipment-related training, based on qualifications and experience
Participate in training initiatives related to the Wheels of Opportunity program, where applicable
Demonstrate proper operation, inspection, and care of vehicles and equipment
Collaborate with instructors, administrative staff, and support teams
Contribute to a culture of accountability, respect, and continuous improvement
Qualifications and Experience
Valid Class 1 and/or Class 3 driver’s Instructor License and/or recognized Air Brakes Instructor qualifications
Commercial driving experience with diverse driving conditions or equipment
Agricultural or vocational driving experience considered an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Comfort working with vehicles and equipment, with some mechanical aptitude
Experience delivering safety, equipment, or air brake training is an asset
Dependable, professional, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Alignment with organizational values and a strong commitment to safety
